How it Works – Paint Pot Clitheroe

Choose your pot!

We stock a wide range of clay fired pottery, called ‘bisque’ .

From plates, mugs and bowls to fun items such as money banks, highland cows, garden gnomes and dog bowls, the hardest part will be choosing what to paint.

Choose your colours!

With 24 colours to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Our paints are a specialist, water based and non-toxic underglaze.

Paint your design!

Once you’re settled at your table, one of our team will give you your painting instructions. They will advise as to how to get the best out of the tools and colours that you will be using and then its over to you to get as creative as you wish!

After your visit!

Following your painting session, you leave your pottery with us to glaze and fire. This takes approximately 5-7 days (slightly longer during busy periods)

We will contact you once ready or can arrange to post items to you at an additional charge.

FAQ's

How much does it cost?

All pottery in the studio is individually priced, so you can pick an item based on your budget. The only additional charge is a £2.50 studio fee, per painter, which covers the paint, glaze and firing costs.

How long does it take?

Our painting sessions are 1 1/2 hour which should give you plenty of time to paint a masterpiece.

When and how do I pay?

Payment is made at the end of the session and can be made by cash / card

When will the items be ready?

You’ll receive a text letting you know that your order is ready to collect. It it usually takes between 5-7 days to glaze and fire. Due to limited storage, we can only hold items for 8 weeks.

Once fired, is the pottery suitable for the dishwasher and microwave?

The pottery is earthenware and we use a dinnerware safe glaze. However, as with any hand made ceramic product, we would advise against using a microwave or dishwasher if possible, as imperfections can occur in time.
